LE FORZE ARMATE DEGLI EMIRATI ARABI ACQUISTANO IL PIAGGIO P.1HH / UNITED ARAB EMIRATES ARMED FORCE PUCHASED PIAGGIO P.1HH
Le Forze Armate degli Emirati Arabi Uniti hanno annunciato la firma di un contratto con ADASI (Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments) per l’acquisizione di otto P.1HH HammerHead, velivoli a pilotaggio remoto (UAV) d’avanguardia progettati e prodotti da Piaggio Aerospace.
Tutti saranno forniti di telecamere EO/IR (Electro-Optical Infra-Red), radar e sistemi di comunicazione avanzati. Il contratto comprende anche il supporto logistico integrato, incluso il training.
Il P.1HH è un velivolo a pilotaggio remoto sviluppato partendo dalla fusoliera del Piaggio P180 e pensato per svolgere missioni di pattugliamento, missioni ISR (Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance), e per rispondere alle diverse minacce che spaziano dagli attacchi terroristici all'immigrazione illegale, alla protezione delle zone economiche esclusive e siti critici. Le apparecchiature montate sull'apparecchio lo rendono idoneo per la sorveglianza dei confini e di ampi spazi, ma anche per l'individuazione di specifici obbiettivi, per il monitoraggio di zone disastrate da catastrofi e il monitoraggio ambientale.
Nel 2015 l'Aeronautica Militare ha ufficializzato l'acquisto di 3 sistemi P.1HH, con l'opzione per altri 3 apparecchi, con consegna pianificata per il 2016. Con quest'acquisizione la forza armata italiana diverrà il cliente di lancio dell'UAV.

United Arab Emirates Armed Force have announced the signing of a contract with Adası (Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments) for the acquisition of eight P.1HH HammerHead, an unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) with avant-garde designed manufactured by Piaggio Aerospace .
All are equipped with EO / IR cameras (Electro-Optical Infra-Red), radar and advanced communication systems. The contract also includes the integrated logistic support, including training.
The P.1HH is an unmanned aircraft developed from Piaggio P180 to carry out patrol missions, ISR (Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance), and to respond to the various threats ranging from terrorist attacks with illegal immigration, protection of exclusive economic zones and critical sites. The equipment mounted on the device make it suitable for the surveillance of borders and wide spaces, but also for the identification of specific targets, for monitoring disaster areas as disaster and environmental monitoring.
In 2015 the Italian Air Force has formalized the purchase of 3 P.1HH systems, with the option for another 3 units, with delivery scheduled for 2016. With this acquisition the Italian Air Force will become the launch customer for UAV.
